Stage Two of the Queensland Government's award winning office facility in Cairns is being designed to achieve a Greenstar, and is expected be the most environmentally sustainable office building in the tropics. Providing nearly 10,000sqm of office space for various government departments, CA Architects and Cox Rayner Architects are designing the $50m building to meet stringent Government office quality standards, but also achieving maximum sun-shading, thermal efficiency and indoor environment quality through the use of low VOC materials.
Construction on-site has started and documentation has been submitted to GBCA. Completion is expected 2010.
