Cannonvale Community Hub

The proposed Community Facility in Cannonvale is to be home for a new library, community facilities, and a customer service centre.

The impetus of the project was borne of the need for a new library and community facility to cater to the growing community for Cannonvale and its surrounding areas. An initial masterplanning process provided a concept scheme which was utilised as a starting point for further client consultation in refining the project functional brief.

Five sites were initially considered and investigated by the design team. A thorough analysis and investigation established Galbraith Park Recreation Park (Galbraith Rd frontage) as the preferred site, due in part to its natural topography, views to mountains, relationship to parklands and gardens. The building connects to green spaces and knolls, with public connection to the Southern site for future council aspirations.

The Cannonvale Community Facility creates a precinct of engaging indoor and outdoor subtropical spaces integrated and connected into it’s parkland and waterways setting.

The building and landscaping actively reflect the climate, culture and lifestyle ambitions of the developing community.

Spaces are flexible and adaptable in order to support a diverse range of programs and experiences that ensure the needs of the local community are supported as it grows.

The precinct facilitates community interaction and engagement making it the hub and heart of the Cannonvale community.
